Steve, IMO, the best argument for price appreciation over the next couple of weeks is that it is fairly common for parents of IPOs to move strongly higher in the few weeks before the IPOs begin to trade. DLIA and DBCC are good examples.

Now one can always argue that IPO market has softened, etc.

Furthermore, one would hope that IDTC is holding onto some news to release over the next few weeks--both IDTC news and NTOP news. I would think it is time to hear soon about the initial results of the new ISP initiative which H60 predicted would triple the subscriber base in the first month. We also know of a deal with CPQ which has not been announced.

If we do not move over 25 or 26 by the end of next week, I will be concerned.

I agree that we need to focus our energies on trying to anticipate some of the upcoming price movements to get some some kind of educated guess as to where IDTC may move to pre-IPO and then what may happen post-IPO. In that regard, Naz's suggestion of burying the hatchet with the short side and use both talents is a good idea. There is going to be volatility and different strategies in play which means most likely there will be no right or wrong, just whats working now. My guess is that we will build back up during the road show to the high 20s and then wander in that area until the IPO goes out. At that point money may rotate into NTOP and along with the shorts IDTC could retrace back to the low 20s and stay there until NTOP settles down and investors have some confidence in price stability to bring IDTC and NTOP into parity which hopefully will result in NTOP staying level or rising and IDTC elevating into parity. So the next few weeks are critical and we should be digesting all the input we can get including well articulated positions from the shorts. I am interested in how Mama Bear would work her strategy.
