Teflon, That Y2K news might be even more important for "dinasaurs" like IBM(just guessing of course). I bet the entire industry is happy though, including MSFT.

BTW--It is amazing. I stopped watching a lot of the news headlines on MSFT ever since the trial recessed. Otherwise, i would be checking the wires all day.

NonStick: The US gov't. entered fiscal 2000 today or so I believe. I didn't see any meltdown. Y2K is going to be an anti-climax. JFD

Just a short braindead excerpt from the "SUNW" thread...

The computer of the very near future will look like an ATM machine. People can figure that out. Windows is for geeks only. Twenty-seven ways to do each and every thing. Has anyone seen the new hardback "The Inmates are Running the Asylum." Details how "geeks" like us have built the hardware and software that run everything. Problem is that the average person doesn't have a clue. Does this sound like W9x? Wait till we see what the boxes that AOL is building with Metroworks running BeOS or linux. Bet they look like ATM machines with few choices and maybe no mouse.

It's a very entertaining thread ;)
