You said:"Apple would have adopted the Windows operating system and abandoned MacOS."

You're not getting the concept. Nobody "abandons" anything. Apple decided long ago that MSFT was the enemy...you are stating a perfect example of that. Don't you realize that these two companies are going at one goal? MSFT finally gets it, Apple never did. That's why MSFT had to put money into this directionless ship Apple. It does'nt matter whose got the better technology. The consumer will ALWAYS tell you which one wins. Certain consumers love Apple, great, but not the masses.

You want another example? Cable vs DSL, the winners will be the ones who realize both deliveries will co-exist.

QuickTime and 360 degrees

"Besides, QT is about much more then streaming media. Real's technology can't even come close to replacing all the things QT does"

Most people think in a linear fashion. Many of the things QT does are utterly useless. The ability to whip people around 360' has absolutely no utility value.
The way people comprehend the world won't change.
QT sure does looks good - for about 10 minutes.
On to something new!

Long RNWK and thank you to the good people at Microsoft.
