With eBay slowing growth in auction count is a definite. It is not a rumor. Y98Q4: 70%, Y99Q1: 60%, Y99Q2: 25%.

I don't know what the market will do, but I think that any communication/information/entertainment service must benefit from HIGH employment, not the opposite.

So for the sake of all my tech stocks, I am hoping for high numbers. However, bond traders might sell, causing the less astute stock traders to sell. But no need to worry about those. They soon get washed out.
