On further reflection - when AOL was at 5 (when was that, last year?) things were a bit different. Actually, I think AOL was at 5 at least three years ago. I think people were more accepting of an internet outage today. And AOL's market cap at the time was much much smaller than Ebay's is today. I believe people and shareholders are more demanding these days. Especially in the online auction market - Amazon and Yahoo are looking very any chink in Ebay's armor to take advantage of. If I was working in marketing at Yahoo or Amazon, I would have been on the phone today, calling every news outlet I know to make sure that they knew about Ebay's outage yesterday. Of course, perhaps, Yahoo and Amazon were not watching Ebay's site (or reading this thread). In summary - I think things are different today.
