... will establish a global SMTC e-Commerce trading community, where manufacturing plants, customers and suppliers can collaborate and transact business in real-time, over the web.

"The webPLAN eSupply-Chain suite will transform SMTC into a Cyber Manufacturer," said Michael G. Ker, President and CEO, webPLAN Inc.

"SMTC and its trading partners will be far more efficient, responsive and profitable than their brick and mortar competitors. Consider the implications --customer service and trust levels will skyrocket, fueled by the customer's direct involvement in the process over the web. Similarly, the real-time participation of suppliers will eliminate the need for SMTC to carry costly supply and inventory buffers as safeguards against supply chain delays.

The impact on SMTC's top and bottom lines will be profound." "webPLAN eSupply-Chain is the cornerstone of our new millennium business model," said Phil Woodard, SMTC's Senior VP, Enterprise Development & Integration.

I thought this was worthy of a few more words. Thank you, I had not seen it. I'll go back to sleep now, wake me at 85.

Wow--I missed this release detailing the WebPlan esupply chain suite. Thanks very much for posting ! This is so awesome because it will increase SMTC margins. Furthermore, we are talking less inventory risk = efficient allocation of capital. Now that's what I call taking the revolution by the horns. :-)

Actually the reason I popped in here was to comment on some old notes I just dug up from a March 97 conf call. In that conf call Tom Dugan explained that as speed increases in the local loop, frequencies increase and degrade/destroy the signal. Not good. Enter SMTC to the rescue. SMTC products solve these problems of signal degradation by decreasing the capacitance and lowering the voltage.

So there you have it....the bandwidth revolution (cable modems and ADSL) will not take place without the analog makers.

Analog rules.
