Re: "I don't use technical analysis (never understood flying banana patterns and half
burned candlesticks...), so that means nothing to me. And I hope it goes a lot
higher, so I can feel more comfortable when/if I eventually do short it."

A flying banana stick clearly indicates an head and shoulders wedgy coming up through an inverted crack. I suggest you stick to *proper* labels for technical analysi <g>.

W/ all due respect, technical analysis, though beyond my ken, is something many people use successfully, but I too am of the opinion that it's always useful to understand the fundamental/underlying reasons someone likes BVSN at $70.

FWIW, an analyst has no choice once a stock hits a target price -- either they have to updrage target, or downgrade rec. They can't have a "buy" and a target of $60 when the stock's at $70.

The upgrade to $84 is interesting, would like to see the research that goes with it. But more than that, I'd love to hear the thread's reasoning (which has been done in advance of the rec).

Elroy, do you basically use PEG for your analysis? You have some good points with the VNTV's and CS's of the world, I have watched them collapse with the best of them. Here's why you need to beware of this stock from a short perspective in my humble opinion.
#1. It's an internet stock with earnings, the leaders in the internet will still make out great looking five years down the road. BVSN is a leader.
#2. Technically the stock is acting fairly nice, would have liked to see some stronger volume.
#3. I think BVSN easily does .55 this year and .75 is in the bag for 2000. This is strictly my gut, which can be good sometimes.
#4. Compared to the sector, something has to give, either the VIGN's of the world, or I get more money. I would prefer the latter.
#5. The word "buyout" have probably surfaced at BVSN so many times. I believe in Pehong, he wants to build an empire! He wants to dominate this space. Let's stop this BVSN short talk and all go long and make some money!

You want a short, go short a second or third tier internet like infospace.

Where is the love!
