SCIL looks like Hooked On Phonics on steroids to me...

And that's not a bad thing financially, IMO. If products like these can get a dominant foothold in their niche, they often command a premium price that should translate into great profit margins.

From the prospectus:

Program revenues are derived from the sale of programs including Fast ForWord and Fast ForWord Two, which generally list for $850 per child and are typically discounted for volume sales and in connection with the bundling of different products.

I won't venture off into my personal and perhaps old-fashioned feelings on taxpayer money of public schools being spent like this, but one would think that money could be made if you're getting $850 per user on a piece of software.

Other random thoughts:

Merrill Lynch is a good thing...

Love the small 2,000,000-share float...

Like the 10,000,000 total outstanding share count...

Hate the name. Bores me to tears...

Never heard of 'em, which doesn't mean much since I'm not involved in any field that would be in their market...

The financials aren't much to look at...

Bottom line: If I got an AR on this one right now, I don't know what I'd do. I'd love to hear thoughts from the rest of the gang.
