Brian,

BTW, what did you think of the Samsung article last week whereby they would user 193nm laser in .13m technology for 1GB DRAM's? Net/net how do you feel this will affect CYMI?

The article indicated that they would NOT have to use 193nm lithography in their 0.13 process, but could adapt KrF technology for this process. The net effect on Cymer is negligible. While they will be using KrF tools, these will most likely be very advanced KrF tools(scanners), of which there are very few installed worldwide. The shift from steppers to scanners, which use Cymer's higher end lasers are what will be driving the company's results in the near term. Scanners will be mandatory for a huge die part like a 1Gb DRAM. Then, if the semi upturn remains on track, we will hopefully get capacity purchases in 2000 which will be the real kicker for the company's results.
