Something to think about while watching the fireworks:

Alan Greenspan has just turned into the guy at NASCAR races who waves the green flag, and the equity market may be moving into high gear. It may be a safe bet that the economic and political events of the coming month may serve to drive investors into speculative, small cap issues rather than large companies that have global exposures.

If a blowoff is about to unfold, that would be consistent with this 1929 analog.

re: radio freeloaders.

Bob is paid (well no doubt) for his radio
show thru the advertisers and listeners. Does
he have no responsibility to loyal listeners
who may not be subscribers?

A bit sticky here I think.

The radio freeloaders might be no worse off than some subscribers if the "bear call" notice goes out on a Wednesday, as the next newsletter is scheduled to. In this scenario, with first-class mail, many subscribers would not receive the notice in time to act until the following Monday. (Working stiffs do not see their Friday mail until after the market has closed). With a Wednesday mailing, hopefully Bob would take the following weekend off so as not to benefit the radio freeloaders prematurely, even though I believe his self-imposed minimum three? day press blackout would have expired by the weekend.

Depending upon circumstances, urgency might dictate that Bob will have no choice as to which day the notice goes out. But I do hope a bear call mailing goes out on a Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, so most subscribers will receive it in time to act upon it before the following weekend. Bob could then go on the air that weekend for one Helluva show.
