Stitch and thread,

Don't look now but almost 60% of today's SEG share price is accounted for by those 33 million shares of Veritas - now trading at $104.

The value of the disk-drive business is now clearly in the single digits. Without discounting the problems this industry faces, I think the valuation here is becoming absurd. Seagate's warning wasn't one of losses like some of their competitors. They are still quite profitable, especially in the high-end.

Unless the high-end becomes a profitless wasteland like the desktop, I have to believe that the market is overdoing the bad news. I see real value in the "Seagate Mutual Fund".

As always, this is clearly my uninformed opinion.
