Hi Carole... I learned that what you do is "Go To Reply" on the right hand side of the message area. That brings you to the "reply" screen, which is what I just did to type this message.

Looks like a case of getting used to the format, but it seemed to work pretty well

With respect to replying to a specific message from the multiple message screen....

We tried it both ways, i.e. with the reply link and without. We felt that the purpose of the multiple replies page was to give users ability to rapidly get through several posts. We've had a ton of positive feedback on it so far. When we started adding other links to the page, i.e. Reply, it started getting cluttered up, and actually defeated the intended purpose. So, you're right. To reply, you click on the message that you want to respond to, and then click on the respond link.

If lots of people feel differently about this, I am happy to re-explore.
