Or driving Edsels. I hear they were going to be one hot auto back in the 50's. Sometimes new things just don't catch on.

I have been reading posts from people who don't like the new site. Lots of people who don't like something won't openly complain to SI, they just discuss it among themselves.

I am not giving up the old format, if Craig can set it up, I'll be using his software.

David, how does that response address the issues that have been brought up?

My old cave had a limit to the width of the words in a message. My new cave cares little for the ability of my eye muscles to scan across a monitor's width.

My old cave had pastel colors, light, easy on the eyes and emotions. My new cave is as exciting and comforting as a day at the army barracks.

My old cave had boxes around my messages, so I knew which part of the page I wanted to focus on first. My new cave makes me search for the content every time I click "next."

There is a reason that magazines and newspapers are laid out the way they are. And it's the same reason I throw out Wired still in its cellophane, and why I will depart slowly but surely from my good friend of over three years, Silicon Investor.

I have too much to read during the day to waste my time with a design that reaches out and attacks me.
