Is it true that athm's subscribers are only up to 500,000 as of July 1st? Am I reading the latest article correctly that Jermoluk indicated only 500,000 subscribers. That means we need to add more than 15,000 a week until year end to reach 1 million. I thought we would have more than 500,000 by now. This roll out seems to be painfully slow and yet Athm expects to have 20 million homes passed by year end. Where are all these homes where the service is available and does anyone in an area where the service is available know what the tendency/percentage of people are signing up. Are people being delayed in service areas by the installation service calls? If so, why don't the MSO's hire more installers to intall those 20 million potential subscribers faster. Wanting to see subscriber growth to get us out of these doldrums but don't understand what the delay is. Anyone know what the delay is and why more techs aren't added to speed up the process.

Pretty pathetic isn't it. You'll find that there is little difference between one guy or another sitting in the big man's chair. Are you arguing for cannonization of mediocrity? I could see the argument in that it achieves Franz' point about planned obsolescence of useless flesh. We all know that in the final analysis somewhere atop a glass and steel tower in downtown Manhattan there is a Blofeld pulling all the strings orchestrating the entire world's wealth part of which goes to the Trilateral Commission, part to the Kuhn & Loeb International Banking Conspiracy, and part to Che. You must have gone to Berzerkeley.

Your characterization of Gates is completely mistaken. It reminds me of David Rockefeller's humorously mistaken view of his grandfather. David felt a strong need to atone for what he felt, or should I say what was required by liberal society, was a proper way to view the days of the "Robber Baron". It seems we view history in the way that pleases the majority around us and I would call that revisionism. Why should you be grinding that ax?
