You are probably quite right. To be honest, I knew they didn't, (probably couldn't) go back to the ancient Hebrew text so, I guessed they had, at least, checked out the Greek interpretations. Since the Anglican church was an off shoot of Catholicism when Henry VIII got booted out, it is logical that they made the alterations you mentioned.
