Morgan,

Just a gentle suggestion - maybe it is time to move on.

I've been using Datek since the first of the year. I've had good and bad executions, but poor cancellations. Also, customer communication with Datek is not the best.

For the last several weeks, I stopped live trading and started paper trading to test a new system/software combination. This week, I felt that I was ready to start trading live. So, for the last several days, I traded my new system live. Result is that MY system is pretty good, but Datek doesn't measure up.

I had hoped that Datek's problems had cleared up. Unfortunately, NOT! Fair executions. Poor confirmations. Very poor cancellations.

Result - Datek loses; CyberCorp wins. I wired my money out this morning.

Note on CyberCorp - I signed up for CyberX because they lowered their fee to $14.95 per ticket and because QCharts is linked to CyberX for Order Entry (right-click on LII and select buy\sell...).

Please consider doing the same (to your broker of choice, obviously). Is the few dollars saved with Datek worth the aggravation?

Regards,

Dan.

I received email from Datek saying that even though I had a sell order for TRIH @ 13 1/8 and an order had went through for 13 1/2. I could not be guaranteed a fill.
They dont say nothing about the bid being at or above 13 1/8 for the first 18 minutes of trading.
Ive used Datek for hundreds of trades and this is the first time Ive complained, but I know bull when I hear it and I will get satisfaction. If they have problems they need to correct them not come up with you just dont understand how orders work.
I could name scores of times Ive placed orders to sell @ the bid and the market maker dropped his bid and I knew I had to lower the ask in order to sell, but for the bid to remain steady for 18 minutes, I expect to sell.
