OT.
I owned a 94 Jeep Cherokee with the 4.0 6 cyl. and it was a GREAT engine. I put 105,000 miles on it and only changed the standard belts, hoses, plugs, etc... I got 22-23mpg with mostly highway driving. Towed a bass boat and tractor with it no problem but I heard the new V-8 has temperature problems when towing.

Dear Diamond and VF: I too love my Grand Cherokee. You must either have a lead foot or need some engine work. I have a 1996 bought new with only 42K miles on it. Have taken too 9,000 mile trips out west and done a lot of offroading (yes its 4x4 and the 4.0L engine). To me it rides as nice or better then the Acura Legend I once had. As to gas mileage I get 18 around town and over 20 on a trip so long as I keep it under 75mph. Have you had the intake and exhaust ports cleaned at the dealers? Something is adversely effecting your mileage. JDN
