JimWillie--Earnings. Estimates are all over the board. I am still looking at the 9/2000 FYE esta of $6.33 made by Everen Securities in May. Taking Morgan's $0.90 6/30 esta and applying a 45% annual growth rate only gives a 9/2000 earnings of $5.01. Is this all rediculous? I thought it was. But, if MOT, ERICY and NOK don't get their CDMA going in 1 to 2 months and QCOM executes flawlwssly, QCOM, Sony (with their new phone factory) and Sanyo will take the US CDMA market for the rest of the year and possibly for the next 12 months. BAM, Sprint and others will be forced to sign longer term contracts with those who can deliver or risk a phone outage at a time when subscriber growth is 50 to 100% over last year. They absolutely can't afford to do this!! This will cause one hell of a step function on earnings. I know there have been rumors that Q can't get its ASICS delivered, but I have faith that INTEL and IBM see this market as a huge opportunity to run their foundrys flat out. My bias is that it is going to happen!!
