You are digging a bigger hole. If the story were so good, why not have sufficient levels of capital now? Why wait and risk rising rates in the debt markets or a general downturn in the equity markets? Why take that risk - if the story were so good?

As a secondary matter, it also does nothing to explain why the company would understate rather than merely reporting the facts as they are, neither under- nor overstating.
