Michael, I am curious to hear a short's perspective of why you don't think there is much downside in the short-term.

From my perspective, the risk of a substantial break to the downside increases every day. There is the $8 million of negative working capital. There is the immediate need to raise additional capital; $25 million needed. There is the floorless variable rate conversion feature of the existing financing that becomes a possibility in three weeks. And there is the steadily-increasing short position itself, which could be Castle Creek (the holder of the floorless) positioning itself for a substantial profit if the stock breaks down.

These factors, plus the statements of the status about production in the recent filings led me to sell. I'll consider repurchasing if they resolve these financial uncertainties in a favorable manner.

But I'm curious about why you chose to cover at this time? Get tired of waiting?

Michael, you are much too rational for this august thread. Here there is an endless love fest, almost masochistic, and the eternal hope is still there. The company has promised for many years "production" and there have been a series of excuses, management shuffling and reshuffling, changes of direction, reengineering and 400 patents or so. Too many patents, too few products going out of the door.

The funny thing is that this time might be "the time", but, VLNC has cried "Wolf" so many times that the stock will do a mild pop, maybe even to just under $10 or so (the pop to $11 was wasted last year when it became clear that there will be no "Material Purchase order" by January $27, the market will try and see for more than just a PR, IMHO. This time they might even wait for actual black ink on the bottom line, or at least significant top line.

Sure, there are some mild signs of accumulation, and that would not surprise me, since the new CFO is apparently quite adept in the "ways of the street", but as you said, most large investors will want to make doubly sure this time, and there are probably hordes of investor waiting for a pop just above $8 "to get even".

Thus, IMHO, there is really no rush to jump in before an announcement of a PO, despite "insitutions" waiting on the side line for the "run to start", I think their buying might be overwhelmed by ample supply from disgruntled investors. Most investors are not like the bulls on this thread, they are not in love with this or any stock. They had dead money for long enough, and every morning they pray, Please almighty, I promise never to touch this stock again, just "make me whole".

Zeev

PS, I do not want to even consider what might happen if there is another quarter with no "Material PO", Wexler might be laughing all the way to the bank.
