I agree with treating cultural artifacts with respect. And in fact I personally believe that there are moral principles that are quasi-universal, and that they can be found in the Bible. I also happen to believe that the Ten Commandments are not a very good summary of them. I think that a person could live his or her life in keeping with the Ten Commandments and still be a complete moral failure: nothing here about being an alcoholic wife-beater, e.g., or an internet trouble maker.
