Its pretty much a fact and not a rumour: (to whom who knows?)

Check the News Alert site, on June 25th, Novell filed for sale of all outstanding shares (some 942,650 chares).

Based upon the volume you quoted, it was probably done today!

Most major high-techs are up today (and yesterday) and substantial gains at that. More likely an over-reaction to the Fed rate. A lot of the gains will probably be partially wiped out over the next couple of weeks. The blue chips, will lose less in comparison than the smaller high-risk stocks. It should be back under $4.00 US within the next two weeks. Corel, due to its history of bad decisions and erratic performances, is a very volatile stock. You are correct, you are in for a roller coaster ride from this company.

If management can keep a consistent performance record over the next few quarters it will probably go as high as $6 US by next fiscal year end. I don't see any technology that will propel Corel (or at least any that they can really capitalise on) into a darling company.
