Off-topic. Hello; this is about buying power. I wonder if anyone can point me to a source of info on Reg T requirements. My broker is Ameritrade. My rule of thumb for buying power has been [liquidation value (less any non-marginable stocks) minus maintenance reqm't] x 2. Last week this no longer worked, in fact became more like just the liquidation value minus maintenance - in other words about half as much. I called AMTD & was told that Reg T regulations indicated the more restrictive figure & I would just have to take their word for it, sidestepping my request to know what was the specific Reg T regulation. Incidentally, I am not in any kind of a Maintenance Call. Info would be appreciated. Thank you. d.a.
