The boob was Malone of TCI. He chose to delay upgrading the TCI wires, I guess thinking that high-speed internet was not that big a deal. Now everyone is paying for his mistake and he is not in charge anymore.

AT&T is investing heavily in the improvments right now, but these things take time.

Can anyone explain what the primary time limiter is in getting the system coverted to HFC?

Yeah, you are absolutely right. According the Rule #1 of Buffett - you should not invest in something that you don't understand. If you can't have access to @home service, how can you know what it is like, right? But, I was wondering about Gates (is he living in Microsoft country?) does he follow Buffett's rules? Gates joined the party on the date of T and UMG engagement with $5 billion, makes you wonder he hasn't learned enough lesson on his $1 billion (worth about ??? now?) to COMCAST. Any comment?
