SCUMbria - Re: "Chances are that AMD is actually sandbagging this one."

Sandbag, SCAMBAG - where the H*LL are the athLOSSes ?

Face reality, Scumbria - AMD has TWICE the opportunity now for a major screw-up:

1. The athLOSS itself.

2. The Chip Set for athLOSS.

That's TWO opportunities for a manufacturing screw-up - where AMD has shown that they only need one chance for a big time screw-up.

AMD's stock is sucking big time - in fact, it's right where is was in September, of 1983 - 16 years ago !

'splain that to me SCUMBRIA !

<Chances are that AMD is actually sandbagging this one.>

Remember about a half year back when some OEM's speculated that AMD was sandbagging with the Q2 introduction date, that they could release the K7 in Q1 if they wanted to? And some people, even Jim McMannis, believed it? (I don't feel like digging up posts to confirm; I just remember.)

Q2 has come and gone, and the K7/Athlon is no where to be found, except in a vaporous announcement that was used as a sorry attempt to gloss over a $200 million loss. So instead of sandbagging, AMD would be slightly behind schedule if they didn't redefine their definition of "meeting schedules."

What makes you think that AMD is sandbagging this time?

RE: <Chances are that AMD is actually sandbagging this one. Scumbria>

Since AMD is using Intel binaries for spec it is likely that K7's advantage will increase when compared against PIII with 3rd party compilers.
