Pfizer Selects Convergys to Provide Employee Service Center

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 12, 1999--Convergys(SM) Corporation was selected to provide an outsourced employee service center for Pfizer Inc., one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies. Under the terms of the five-year agreement, Convergys will provide health and welfare benefit and personal data administrative services for about 14,000 active and newly hired Pfizer employees.

Convergys will support Pfizer employees in the United States by servicing eligibility requirements, changes to personal information, changes in benefits resulting from life event status changes, and basic payroll functionality, such as the processing of federal and state tax withholding forms. All US-based new hires at Pfizer will call the employee service center to provide the personal information to initiate their payroll and benefit elections.

The Convergys employee service center will simplify many processes for Pfizer and for its employees. For example, Pfizer employees can make a wide assortment of changes related to life event status changes - such as marriage or the birth of a child - with a single phone call. Employees can call the same number to inquire about their eligibility for benefits, to make changes to personal data or to check the status of their recently submitted tax withholding forms. Employees have options to order personalized benefit and payroll statements through Convergys Interactive Voice Response system, or speak to a representative. The caller information is transmitted seamlessly to the representative's desktop via Computer Telephony Integration (CTI). All information collected by the employee service center is electronically integrated directly into Pfizer's human resource information system (HRIS).

Convergys and AT&T Wireless Services Sign $1 Billion Billing Services Agreement
CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 1999--Convergys Corporation today announced an agreement has been reached with AT&T Wireless Services (AWS) to extend the term of the current billing services contract with revenues expected to be $1 billion. This agreement extends the existing contract into the year 2004 and replaces the current agreement, which was to expire in 2001.

Convergys has been providing AWS and predecessor, McCaw Cellular Communications, Inc., with customer care and billing services for 16 years, a period during which they grew from zero subscribers to one of the largest wireless providers in the United States. As a pioneer in the wireless market, Convergys utilized its software to bill the first cellular telephone call in the United States in 1983, and now has applications which routinely produce more than one million bills per day.
