We will just have to be patient with Sony. Don't know if we are
involved but it looks as though it could be awhile before we find
out.

New Walkman Planned to Tap Internet Music
Jul 01, 1999, (Comline via COMTEX) -- At a ceremony July 1 marking the twentieth anniversary of the Walkman, Sony (6758) announced that the next wave of the personal stereo would tap into external sources like the Internet to get music for the user. The Net Walkman that Sony is proposing would be able to record and play back music from the Internet wherever the user happens to be. It could take advantage of services, available possibly by the end of the year, that will distribute music over the Internet.
