I think this was my point Little Joe. When there is no news, there is movement in the stock price, people are buying and selling and the price is moving up and down. However, when there is a break-out without news, my suspicion is that there is an expectation of news (or a rumour) which drives this price change (ie fundamentals). From a statistical point of view, volume and price changes (over time) can be modelled to predict future price changes (technical analysis). However, in my opinion, the price changes experienced on Wednesday and Friday (in view of the fact that material drilling information has been compiled and will be released early next week) suggest that somehow, somewhere, someone(s) has(have) become party(parties) to a significant rumour(s) (ie more than 500,000 shares traded today) which would suggest that something significant is about to be released with respect to TG-1 and/or TG-3.
I had thought that I might increase my holdings today despite the fact that there was no news (why sell when I'm so sure that this baby is going up?) but waited (and waited) for the price to come back a bit but, as you saw, this was not to be. Perhaps we will pull back a bit on Monday but I have a feeling that Man still has more than two legs under it but we'll just have to see how things pan out on Monday in advance of what may well be a Tuesday news release (unless they halt them on Monday to find out what the hell is going on to drive the stock up!) Here's looking at you babe! God, this feels good after the long wait!
P.S. If the price continues up in advance of Tuesday's news release, hole onto your hats...I can't believe that we'd have this volume and price increase without some substantive news behind it.
Sorry to ramble on like this but :-) I've had a few too many! hic!
