I don't know WRS' pricing guideline, and I don't remember ever seeing "typical royalty" number released by WRS. Allan Benn has pointed out that WRS gets $1.5-$2.0 for every IxWorks. I would think that VxWorks is higher. My guess (purely a guess) is that unit royalty varies among customers, since different customers have different volumes. In the past, WRS has been known as the high cost supplier of RTOS. Recently, it has adjusted its sales model. I haven't read much into this. Someone else on this thread should be able to tell you about the new sales structure.
