So often, wealth insulates individuals from suffering any consequences for irresponsible behavior. You are absolutely right. It is also true that poverty can insulate you from suffering the consequences, at least in this particular instance. For example, I don't think that a 15-year-old ghetto boy will be forced to marry, or to make child support payments to, a girl he got pregnant. Especially if his own parents are unemployed, or absent altogether... I could be wrong, of course.
