This is really nice, JP. I'll print it out and bring with me and talk to the kids about it on the trip.

Chris and Ben are out mall-crawling, and Nick got left home because he unplugged Ben's clock and took its batteries out to get even with Ben for something or other. So he is bored, and he wanted to try cooking something in his class cookbook. He showed me the recipe, for quick oatmeal cookies, no baking, and I said ok, just let me do the boiling of the milk, sugar and butter. So I came down and boiled that stuff for two minutes, and poured it into the bowl of oats and cocoa. And said, this isn't three cups of oatmeal, how did you measure it? And he said, it was all the oatmeal that was left in the box. And I looked at the box, and it was old fashioned oats, not quick oats. I said, not only do you not have enough oats, it's the wrong kind, it won't work. He was cheerful about it. I didn't say anything about wasting all the butter, sugar, milk, cocoa and oats, maybe he'll eat it anyway.
