Casaubon, I agree with the moto education first (either you learn it paper trading or you learn it with real money, but one way or the other you will learn it). Unless you just get scared and run for the hills ;) I use a program called quotes plus ... not a bad program ... suits my needs and I am quite used to it, been using it for errr well maybe 3 years. Not sure what the initial price is; maybe $60 but it's $20 a month for internet daily downloads ... I have metastock, but to tell you the truth I havn't outputed much to there in a while ... the only thing I use MSwin now for is to see exact price crossings with trendlines ... ie the drawing of trendlines in QP is well just that 'drawing' and hard to see the fine points. I have Dorsey's book, but I have tried to read it 3 times and I end up falling asleep to it (not really, but I just cant get into it). Someday I would like to figure it out. It seems as if my investment style has been changing since I started. Obviously I have been molding it into the things that I feel works and that I enjoy. I used to use all sorts of indicators (my charts looked pretty ;) ... but now I just have stochs up in quotes plus and hardly even notice that. -OT- not to take away from this thread but I have a thread called chart formations and would like to start some commentary there. I assume this thread is used more for Market, rather then T.A. on individual stocks etc ... I've been having an ongoing conversation with someone else via private about trades etc and wouldn't mind getting more people involved. Sean
