I have long subscribed to your Sept sell off theory!

I have thought about selling covered calls on all my stock for Aug/Sept and letting the premiums die.

Not to sure what to think about the tax issue for selling the stocks. I have some big gains and the tax liability would kill me. Now if I get laid off (most likely in late Sept), then selling the stock would not be so painful since I would be in a lower income level (due to lack of occupation salary).
