I suppose Bob was saying that all those juvenile attitudes would change if they were made "psychologically ready" for sex. I just don't think that's so easy. Kids grow in such strange and unpredictable fits and starts. Look at the 9th grade boys, skinny, hairless, short, and the 9th grade girls- who are Hot. Remember reading? Some read at 4, some not til they're 7.

My son could reach the pedals and turn the ignition on in the car many years ago, but he wasn't allowed to drive until we felt he was responsible. I see no reason that waiting to have sex, and understanding why, is damaging. If anything was damaging to me, it wasn't the not having sex, it was the Catholic teachings on it. THose are the things we need to change.
