Mary, do you know how wit handled your case when u did not have the STAD settled by the time.
I have sent numerous fax request to transfer money from one account to another (both in my name)to settle NPLS and every day they say, we will do it today(for the last 3 days).
i am running out of time. 7/6 is the last day.

Mary, here's what I'd recommend:

1. Download the margin agreement from the Wit website at this link
witcapital.com

2. Complete that form.

3. Write a letter requesting that your cash account be changed to a margin account.

4. Fax the form and the letter to 'em.

5. Follow up with phone calls, and ask them to move your marginable stocks to margin. IPO shares usually become marginable after 30 days.

6. Remember the posts that have gone before: if you actually buy something on margin, be sure you go ahead and pay for what you buy on margin, so that you don't take a chance on getting locked out of IPOs. My guess is that you're okay as long as you still have $2K worth of fully-paid-for securities in the cash region of your account, but if your marginable stocks are actually being used as margin collateral, they no longer count toward the $2K. And remember, this is only a guess based on logic, and logic does not always apply with online brokers.

Good Luck!
