Thanks for the heads up. As an EMC shareholder myself I should have been paying more attention, especially to a Technocrat post. Last fall I seem to recall that McData was saying that they were working on an ASIC to replace the Brocade ASIC but it looks like Technocrat doesn't think that has happened.

Took me a while to find the link on HPs new Enterprise Storage site, but here is the description and picture of their 16 port switch - still looks like a McData/Silkworm (as always I will defer to anyone who actually has installed the equipment):

Also looks like HP is very serious about going after the storage enterprise biz and they have some competitive advantages in the area of FC chips and ICs.
