Boy, do I agree. Here's the deal at our house. Anything left on the kitchen counter or arriving in the laundry basket is fair game for mom eyes. But I will not go into drawers, or read private mail, or search their rooms. THere IS a caveat though. I wouldn't hesitate to toss their rooms totally if I had reason to think they were using drugs or were into something questionable. Their rooms are disasters. The maid is horrified-- her children's rooms are perfect. But I strongly believe that kids need a space that is theirs.
