Richard, copper is still an excellent material for many uses, one of the best thermally conducting (and SC are actually very bad thermal conductors) materials (almost as good as silver). I am not sure where in the automotive industry they will have an increase in 600% in copper usage, but who knows. The next three four years are going to be OK for copper, particularly in view of the industry closing down excess capacity. But you got to remember that copper is the mainstay of a number of developing countries' economies and these nations, to finance their transition to the "world consumer economy", will have to produce as much as possible, thus preventing any huge increase in copper prices, IMHO.
