Hi Dave. I have lost your email address, so here are my suggestions for a genealogy channel. I believe that such a channel will be a very popular addition. talkspot.com does a weekly internet-radio show with an interactive chat, sponsored by Generations Software, and talkspot has indicated that it is their most popular program. Since they are sponsoring the radio program, the most logical sponsor for a channel would be their competitor, Parsons Technology/Broderbund Software, who sells Family TreeMaker Software, the largest selling package, as well as a large line of CD-ROMs.

Another alternative might be Ancestry.com, a division of CMGI. My wife also is aware of a company known as Heritage Quest that has a strong web presence heritagequest.com --marketing to its members and non-members CD-ROMs of actual census images and other products, including a genealogy magazine. I doubt that Rootsweb would commit the resources to host a channel, but it might. They are a group of people who got together with the common mission to make genealogical data freely available via the internet. They have operated in the past on the basis of voluntary contributions, but have recently instituted paid advertising banners and for-pay webpages featuring hobbies other than genealogy to support their genealogical activities.

One other idea is that for awhile someone sponsoring a limited run show on PBS, maybe 6-8 episodes.

Keep up the good work,

Carl
