Ten or LESS contracts should be automatically executed by RAES. (the electronic small-order system for options). IF your broker routed your order via RAES.

I'm not sure, though, if you need an actual market order (rather than a limit at the market) to qualify for automatic execution.

Some brokers may automatically send your limit orders to the floor for possible price improvement first, and perhaps that is what happened to you.

You really need to ask your broker how they route orders.
