Very cool, esoteric setups, but a more cost-effective way to add viewing power to a conventional PC such as Dell or Gateway would be to buy an Appian Jeronimo card which supports two monitors. An Appian runs about $700, while a Dell 21" 1600HS costs $1000. Since the Dell 21" support 1600x1200 resolution, two 21" would give you a greater viewable area than four 18" flat panels running at only 1024x768. Of course, you might have to squint a bit, and most 21" are big and bulky...if only someone would manufacture a cheap 21" flat-panel monitor!
