First, how did you short this stock? It hasn't been available the required 30 days.

More importantly, in their registration statement, they indicated revenues of $1.5M for the quarter ended March 31, 1999. If their revenues remain flat, that's $6MM in revenues for a year, or 333x revenues. Fortunately, however, they've almost tripled revenues quarter-to-quarter for the past 4 consecutive quarters. Assuming they only double revenues for the next 4 quarters, they would have revenues each quarter of: $3MM, $6MM, $12MM and $24MM for a total of $45MM in revenues for a one year period. This would put us at 48x forward revenues.

It sounds like 2x quarter-to-quarter revenue growth is quite an outlandish expectation, but this early in their existence and with all of the publicity they've been receiving (and with the Netscape deal) I wouldn't be surprised to see even better than that.

People aren't paying for past revenue/earnings, they're paying for future revenue/earnings. (Earnings? Not for a while.)

I like it. I certainly wouldn't short it, even if I could. That would be insane.

Donny, who has recommended a strong sell? YOU? Who the heck are you? What are your credentials? Now if you have shorted this stock and put your arse on the line, get off this board. Do not spam this board . We are logical thinkers. We believe very strongly in GOTO's business model. As I had said earlier, I see it very similar to PCLN and if so then they should soon catch up with PCLN. I am sure that PCLN saw a lot of shotters like you also and they have been mumbled by PCLN's extraordinary performance. So wait for GOTO another 2 weeks and I expect it to follow the precedence set for stocks with a similar business mode namely PCLN.

Cover your short.

Donny, I think you have made a mistake ... but we all live and die by our decisions. By the way ... I see someones corrected your revenue figures. You were closer with your Mkt cap ... but SEEK is 3.542 bil vs 2.191 bil ... and I think its price is capped by the confusion about Disneys $50 options re the buyout.

Also ... I bought the company because it has proprietary advertising related software it could just license out and make money off ... not because its a search engine ... though they seem to want to make a big deal of it all and become a bigger player.

I want to average up ... and I think there are lots of people like me waiting for weakness. Going short in this market takes a lot of guts - good luck !!
