There is no 100% "reliable" broker.

Not even full service brokerages are 100% available.

Just one tidbid from my homecountry - where I had a full service broker account with one of the "leading " banks - full service means 1% commish, not $10 or $40.

One day, in September 1998, I found that on the local exchange 300 IBM shares have been offered (!) at roughly $108 ($99 at current exchange rate levels!) when they traded at $114-117 the day before on the NYSE, all pre-split.

It was at roughly 10 am our time, and noone was taking the ask. I called up the bank and wanted to take them - at least for arbitrage reasons. Alas, the only person who handled the access of the foreign segment was "on holidays" and there was no substitute...
SO, turned out that noone was capable in taking the pieces and selling them to me with a small markup...

I never did any business with that bank again.

Regards

is.

Morgan,

When you say, "...Cyber does not work 100% of the time either...", is this all encompassing or is it just specific portions. Is it the charts? Data? Order Entry? All of the above?

Since I'm using a combination of CyberX and QCharts, I'm wondering if it would be more reliable the CyberTrader?

Regarding "...bad executions these days...", it has me spooked too! Given that my new system requires fast executions, confirmations and cancellations, one really bad failure on my broker's part could eliminate days or weeks of profit in a single bad trade. Although I'm far from perfect, I've gotten much better at my stop losses. My broker needs to do his part.

I'd appreciate any comments.

Regards,

Dan.
