How's your weekend? The big event here is the women's soccer World Cup semifinals at
Stanford tomorrow. My wife was buying tickets yesterday and actually made it on two
local news programs for her efforts. She's into this feminist stuff (take no offense HJ
LOL), so she made the most of the photo/interview opps.

Rob,

This is good. I am not a tennis fan but I see it is on TV daily;-) I worked yesterday. Was trying to get caught up whent he market was closed. My son and I are going to a Pirates baseball game and leaving shortly. We are a few hours from Pittsburgh. I expect the heat and humidity to take its toll so I will be sure and drink pleanty of beer. I will "let" him drive;-)

Didn't seem to inhibit either generation from partaking in the Reefer
Madness LOL. We stayed Clean and Sober, thank you very much.) BD was truly terrific,
and reliving our 'childhood' fun.

I have given up my reefer days. I never inhaled<VBG> The concert sounded like fun.

And with our friend out of town this weekend, I can even brunch at Cafe Brioche
without trepidation <g>.

I never heard of this place prior to this thread. I am wondering if a hotdog at the ballpark is just as good;-)

Enjoy the holiday.

Glenn

As it should be....

I do not know if you guys realize what the USA [women] team has accomplished so far, and what it could accomplish by wining this tournament.

In the men's tournament, there is not a more popular sport in the world than soccer. And while the US team [men] has come along way.... their performance has been not something "to write home about"

Brazil, [women] (to my disappointment), is not as good as I was expecting them to be, but soccer is in their blood, so it will not be an easy game for the US. Brazil is still my favorite to win, [of course, what do you expect?!], but after seeing the US beat Germany, coming from behind --not an easy thing to do, who knows, the US has a good chance of wining not only the game but the Cup.

If they do that...

Believe me, the term "Soccer Mom" will take on a Grand new meaning, not to mention that will put the boys US team to shame <g>

She's into this feminist stuff

If the USA team wins the World Cup... be ready for some serious boasting... deservingly so, since they will have won it for the second time in its short history.
