Fred, I've been on vacation and catching up on the SI board so you may have already received a response to your MM question, but I didn't see any. I am presently running a Gateway PII-400 system with FOUR monitors. The MOBO has 4 PCI slots, 1 PCI/ISA shared slot and 1 AGP slot. I took the ISA slot and installed a Turbocom card from Pacific Commware (2-high speed serial ports). To one port I have an Eicon T/A ISDN modem and to the other I have a US Robotics V.everything 56k modem. I only use one modem at a time and have each one connected through a simple A/B switch box to my SECOND PC for surfing and other works. The US Robotics modem makes it's connection through my ISDN modem. During the trading day, this gives me a 56k connection for charts on 1 PC and another 56k connection for everything else. When the market is closed, I run the ISDN line doubled so I connect at 128k or so. Using the ISA port frees up the PCI slot a modem would usually take without sacrificing my normal com ports. (NOTE: DSL and Cable modems are not yet available in my area, but when they are available later this year, I will be first to sign up.) In the AGP slot, I run an ATI Xpert98 card. In three of the PCI slots, I run ATI Xpert98 cards also. I use Windows 98 for the multimonitor setup. I have only 64MB which is adequate and have the four screens filled with charts and quotes from eSignal. The monitors are Viewsonic VPA150 Flat Panels. This yields over 4 sq ft of viewing with loads of versatility in a compact space. I still have 1 UNUSED PCI slot that will be used for a network card at a later date. On my main PC I run 192MB which allows me to run Outlook, IE5 to SI, IE5 for trading, and most other software I wish to run at the time. This whole setup works beautifully and I have no complaints at all. Regarding your question on resources, running 4 monitors with my setup is about the limit. However, this uses less resources than running dual versions of eSignal would. Good luck Gary
