Ron, a tax credit, yes, but not what is planned now, it is too much too fast. If they were to ask me, I would simply gradually raise the threshold of taxation at the 15% and 28% by maybe $500/year (on top of the current rise with inflation), that will have the impact of benefiting the lowest tax bracket (proportionally) much more than the top brackets, and all that money is going to go back into the economy as consumer demand, thus keeping this miraculous stretch alive a little longer. If they change the code drastically, they are inviting another economic dislocation. There is really no need right now to pour additional liquidity into financial assets (where tax savings in higher brackets will flow), a liquidity bubble is coming soon with the big bang in Japan.
