Happy 4th of July...Happy Independence Day....To All !! May we all move freely living our lives in this wonderful land, going and saying what we choose, with no selective or arbitrary interference. It's great reading such inspiring posts on this board; especially Carolyn's about the sacrifices made for the start-up and Blue's about the ideals worth continuing and fighting for; thanks. There's thunder and lightning right now here & thank goodness for that! It's been so hot and humid all week, like rain's building up. Can remember my grandmother saying when I was little about how there's always a thunderstorm the day after the fireworks; and that holds true. Maybe the clouds get seeded by the powder. My computer hasn't been acting right either. The other day I got a virus message on it when I signed off...program said I'd have to delete a Windows System file because it couldn't be fixed automatically. No Thank You!! So I erased the cache and the temp., updated the virus program, ran it again, and this time no virus. I went in to look at downloads, exes, etc. and it all looked ok, nothing recent sticking out. So far so good...except this is the second post I'm writing, the last one just now gave me a waol error message when I touched the scroll arrow - but it's done that before. Maybe the system's a little out of whack because of the beta, or maybe it's because of the kids being out of school thrashing the heck out of the whole internet...visiting other kids webpages, downloading heavymetal wav files from overseas, running 5 IM's and 3 Band website message boards all at one time the way they do. Whatever the reason, the Internet is a new and more unstable means of communication than postal mail or telephone, fer sure. Once a message is published publicly, it's public. Of course none of these Companies want any negatives said about them, until it comes down to a product failure or a surprise delisting or the dump part of the pump or a shareholders suit or an FDA rejection and then the lawyers get most of it anyway. I've personally invested in some stocks regardless of rumors or even fundamentals and profited if/when the timing is right; sometimes they must be held for longer than I'd like to get my $ out. Yep.... CaveatEmptors...it's always been that way... remember the upheaval Ralph Nader caused in the '50's and '60's with his Consumer Reports opening the door to lawsuits for damages from bad or dangerous products?!The Bigs didn't like that, either. The Bigs never have, never will like it when Lil Guys sting Colossus with their tiny arrows. Let the Lil Guy just shaddup and give 'em that money. Peasants got some nerve evaluating Their Betters, got some nerve having access to information over the internet about some things the Companies would rather they didn't!! Like how much do you think the Funds and Bigs like to see investors getting together over the internet helping each other prosper independently of their assistance? SI is probaly numero uno for that. Enemies from without & from within ready to thwart whatever it is anyone wants to do especially when it's money involved. This Country has so very many laws; just about anything anyone does (short of real crime, and even some of those are debatable, looks like) is against the law on one book while the action is being protected from another angle. I guess the rule is almost once anyone makes a complaint about anything, once both sets of lawyers are paid then Da Judge sorts it out. Being law abiding and living right gives one a better chance of staying out of court...but it's no guarantee. I'll look more into this latest thing ... I know there was a buildup of questions about it on the thread; and it reported earnings too. It's an Asian Internet, so talk about edgy... yep, a netnut all the way on the other side of the world dealing with gung-ho nuevo-riche folks new to tech along with capitalism probly, imagine what that must be like as it's got stockmarket functions & adding an international site for imports. Fascinating. Added up to questions on the thread about Unsolved Mysteries, yep. Haven't read that thread in awhile. It quacked right nice for me a ways back. Have A Great 4th Of July, Yer pal, Joan
