Vendit, what is your take on the at&t/msft free isp access threat described in stockguy's post #24822? is this a cloud no bigger than a man's hand which...?

I had to search for your mentioned link and put it just below..........

Message 10373783

Would you first tell me what YOU think about this information?

I normally do my DD on a company and if I like what I see and it meets certain criteria ....I buy it based on timing models.

I am interested in what you think.

I think....AOL has most of the ISP cusomers. The UK also has free health care......and 70% taxation of wages. They also tax local phone usage per minute........their Internet penetration per household is only about 10% where as in the USA it is about 40%......and mostly paying customers by choice.

UK free= 10%......

USA pays='s 40% penetration.

AOL will now give away a computer for a 24 month ISP commitment....AOL will be able to connect 3rd world countries that aren't even copper laid yet via Hughes wireless soon.

All of this is just some ramdom Vendit thoughts............what are your thoughts?

:8-)

MSFT has MSN, ATT has WorldNet, if they want
to offer free ISP they can do it themselves
without partnership each other, that article
has a poor background.

MSN has an Anti-trust case unsolved, Bill Gate
knows his hand is tight.

ATT won't do it because they'll kill ATHM's growth
and commit heavy cloud for their MediaOne
deal with FCC. Besides, ATT has SO MANY
local open-access court appearances to attend,
they are not stupid to do so.

Free ISP can only lure people who already
have PC,
Free PC with ISP attracts
newbies,
you make your own judgement.

ATT and MSFT have a strong arms to do free ISP but they won't do it
for obvious reason, other free ISPs do not have enough money to
make a threat to AOL.

That person who wrote the article is not
a good writer because his thought is not
deep enough, he just ass-u-me-d it widely when he is
in men's room.
