If women (usually) have no trouble staying monogamous, why is it that they often stray?
I think that men who hang in locker rooms and such and talk about their conquests are very insecure in their manliness. I learned very young that their talk about girls was not to be trusted. Much of it was revenge on girls who wouldn't play around. Who but a satiated fool or homosexual would brag that he had gotten sex from a woman and set up competition for himself? The prime reason a "gentleman" guards the reputation (with his life) of his ladies is to protect them from insult, invitations, and threats. One reason men report sharp differences in the behavior of male groups is that some men are thought to be "gentlemen" and the social scum won't run a chance of being down by them. I once worked for possibly the filthiest talking man I have ever heard of. He was a genius, but suffered from Tourette's syndrome in an extreme form. He said filthy, suggestive things about almost every woman he knew -- employees' wives, employees, everyone. After one tiff with me, he never said anything about any woman in my presence. My wife refused to believe the stories that she heard about him.
