>>>AOL expects to hit $5 billion in sales this year, more than the next 20 Internet companies combined and roughly the size of NBC's. And the company's market value of $110 billion is bigger than that of any other media concern in the world. <<

For a comparison lets look at the New York Times, which is no slouch by the way.

2.95 billion in sales
6.47 billion market cap

I don't argue with AOl or it's promise, just the fanciful valuation that is being corrected as we speak.

I know, now i get the new era rebuttals about dis an dat, save em.

America Online (AOL, $112.12) -- Lehman sees AOL shares, which
plunged this spring, as suffering from misplaced fears of competition
from rivals offering consumers faster Internet connections. It expects
AOL's own "broadband" connections to keep rivals at bay, and in any
case the firm expects that most users will continue to use "dialup"
modem links for a long time. Amato says the firm is only sorry it
couldn't put AOL on the list last month, when it dipped below $90 a
share.

Thanks a lot! Stephen Karasick, you have posted the single
most important article
of 1999 for all AOL longs! Thanks
again!

This article affirms my mind about AOL's future much further than I was, I was planning to be an AOL-made-single-million-aire before
reading this article, now I plan to gain and hold more shares
as my ability can extend, I was planning to hold one more split but
now I want to hold at least 2 splits because I want to be
an AOL-made-multi-million-aires in the next 3 years!

You are the best poster of 1999!

Today is July 4, 1999, your post has made this particular day
so special to me.

"Windows is the past," Case says flatly. "In the future, AOL is the next
Microsoft."

After Windows 2000 comes out, does Microsoft even have a future? Let's face it, the internet is the future, and AOL is leading the pack...Mr. Case is doing a hell of a job making this company grow in every area...now that DSL is rolling out, and is being touted by critics as the "more stable" broadband alternative...the sky's the limit for AOL...Happy holding to all!!
